Rildan is arid, hot and dry, with most of the land being covered in inhospitable desert. The only shade to be had is in the Gash, a deep gorge running across the continent from north to south.
Rildan is home to the Aerari, a broken people whose entire existence centers around the everyday struggle for survival in the harsh land. The Aerari's self-loathing is topped only by their hatred for the other races, whom they view as traitorous and deceitful.

Lore Excerpt: 'Khalim stood on the shores of the great lake looking out at the distant hills. It was a magnificent view and he always felt calmed by it. As his eyes trailed down towards the lake he noticed something odd. Strangely, there appeared to be a rock floating on the water some distance away. He had heard of these rocks in stories told at the fire side, but never actually seen one himself. It appeared to be heading straight towards him, despite the current which should reasonably have been pushing it the other way. He felt an increasing sense of trepidation. Although such rocks had been seen at a distance, they had never actually approached the shore. Being a hunter, Khalim refused to let his fear overtake him. He stood firm and watched the rock cross the water and stop at the beach...' |
